Borsa Istanbul opens at over 4,500 points for record high

BIST 100 index gains over 74 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at a record high level of 4,541.44 points on Friday, up 1.66%, or 74.34 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 2.43% to end Thursday at 4,467.10 points with a daily trading volume of 105 billion Turkish liras ($5.64 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.5350 as of 09.59 a.m. local time (0659GMT), the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.9360, and a British pound traded for 21.6850 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $95.53 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,760.70.
