SARAJEVO (AA) – Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdic, visited Anadolu Agency’s Sarajevo office on Friday.

Zvizdic celebrated the fifth anniversary of the agency’s language unit based in Sarajevo, which falls on March 11. The unit covers Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian languages since its inception.

He was later informed about the activities of the agency and its network in the region by the editor of the unit, Hakan Celik.

“I wish the agency’s activities continue in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other regional countries for many, many years,” he said.

He praised the agency's work and added, “Neutral and trustworthy news sources like Anadolu Agency contribute to democratic societies’ development."

He said the increasing number of media outlets in the country also affected accurate news reporting and this diversity would also help avoid spreading misinformation.

During his visit he was given the agency’s “Almanac 2016” and the book titled “FETO’s Coup Attempt in Turkey” which covered the deadly failed coup and its aftermath.

The 15 July 2016 coup attempt left at least 248 people martyred and more than 2,100 injured.
