WASHINGTON (AA) - Brazil’s Supreme Court has ordered the house arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro, local media reported Monday.

Bolsonaro is currently facing trial for allegedly orchestrating a plot to stay in power after his 2022 election defeat to current President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Last month, he was ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor, which he described as "a supreme humiliation."
