ANKARA (AA) — Brighton and Hove Albion stunned Manchester United 3-1 in the English Premier League week 22 match on Sunday.
Yankuba Minteh, a young Gambian winger for Brighton, scored the opening goal in the fifth minute at Old Trafford.
Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes equalized the score with a right-footed shot from the penalty spot in the 26th minute.
Brighton's Brazilian attacker Joao Pedro put the ball into the United net in the 53rd minute, but it was disallowed by a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) call.
In the 60th minute, Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma scored with a right-footed shot from close range to give the visitors the lead again.
A left-footed shot from the center of the box from Brighton's French striker Georginio Rutter added insult to injury for Manchester United by making it 3-1 for the visitors.
Brighton and Hove Albion are in ninth with 34 points, while the Red Devils slipped to the 13th spot with 26 points after their 10th defeat this season.
