While new registrations post increase, bankruptcies fall quarter-on-quarter in Q4

ISTANBUL (AA) - In the last quarter of 2021, the number of registrations of new businesses in the EU increased by 1.6% versus the previous quarter, according to official figures released on Thursday.

Bankruptcies decreased by 0.7% over the same period, showed the figures by the bloc’s statistical authority, Eurostat.

Compared to the same quarter of 2019, the number of registrations was also 6% higher, while bankruptcies dropped by 23%.

While in 2020, the pandemic hit economic activity in the 27-member union, easing restrictions are currently boosting all sectors.
