Car rams into crowd in southwestern France

3 students hurt; 28-year-old driver was known to police for committing minor offences, French broadcaster BFM TV reports

PARIS (AA) - Three students were injured, two of them seriously after a driver “deliberately” crashed into a crowd on Friday afternoon in front of a school near Toulouse in southwestern France, according to a public prosecutor.

The incident took place outside the Saint-Exupery high school in Blagnac, Haute-Garonne, Toulouse prosecutor Pierre-Yves Couilleau told French broadcaster BFMTV.

Police arrested the 28-year-old driver, who was known to police for committing minor offences, BFM TV reported, quoting police.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
