ANKARA (AA) - Chelsea advanced to the 2022 English FA Cup semifinal after beating lower division club Middlesbrough 2-0 in a quarterfinal match Saturday.
Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku scored the opener in the 15th minute as he finished in the six-yard-box at Riverside Stadium. Lukaku was assisted by Mason Mount.
In minute 31, Moroccan attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech fired a left-footed shot outside that scored the insurance goal.
Other semifinalists will be unveiled after matches Sunday in the quarterfinal.
Crystal Palace vs. Everton; Southampton vs. Manchester City and Nottingham Forest vs. Liverpool.
The FA Cup semifinals will be held April 16.
London's Wembley Stadium will stage the 2022 final on May 14.
