ANKARA (AA) - China banned a Taiwan-based company Thursday linked to a separatist that supports the island’s independence, state media reported.
The Chinese mainland has decided to impose punitive measures on Sicuens International Co., Ltd., banning it from conducting any transactions or cooperation with mainland organizations, enterprises or individuals, said Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
Investigations revealed that Shen Tu-cheng, the father of die-hard “Taiwan independence separatist" Shen Pao-yang, serves as the head of the company, the Global Times reported.
"The mainland firmly opposes allowing enterprises linked to stubborn ‘Taiwan independence’ separatists to profit from the mainland," the newspaper quoted Zhu as saying.
Last October, China’s Taiwan Affairs Office announced punishments on Shen Pao-yang and Robert Hsing-cheng Tsao, two key secessionist figures from Taiwan, along with Kuma Academy, an organization that propagates secessionist ideas and serves as a base for "Taiwan independence separatist" activities.
China considers Taiwan as its breakaway province, whereas the island insists on its independence.
