China launches new communication satellite

Satellite to be used to offer voice, data, radio, television transmission services

ISTANBUL (AA) – China successfully launched a new communication satellite into space Tuesday from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in southern Hainan province, state media Xinhua News reported.

The ChinaSat 3B satellite was successfully launched at 7.50 pm local time (1150GMT) on a Long March-7A carrier rocket.

The satellite will offer voice, data, radio, and television transmission services.

It was the 577th launch mission of the homegrown Long March series carrier rockets.
