China launches remote sensing satellite aboard Long March-2D rocket

Successful mission places Gaojing-3 02 and Tianyan-23 satellites into orbit

ISTANBUL (AA) - China successfully launched a Long March-2D carrier rocket on Saturday, placing a remote sensing satellite into orbit, state-run Xinhua News reported.

The rocket lifted off at 12:11 p.m. local time (0411 GMT) from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, carrying the Gaojing-3 02 satellite. The mission also deployed the Tianyan-23 satellite.

This marks the 564th flight of the Long March rocket series, reflecting China's ongoing advancements in space exploration.

The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, China’s oldest rocket launch site, is located about 150 km south of the Sino-Mongolia border and serves as a key hub for the country’s satellite launches.
