ISTANBUL (AA) — China on Sunday launched a new test satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan, state-run media reported.
The Shiyan-28B 02 satellite lifted off at 4.55 pm (0855GMT) aboard a Long March-4C rocket and reached its designated orbit, according to the Xinhua news agency.
The spacecraft is designed for space environment exploration and related technological experiments.
The launch was the 589th mission in the Long March rocket series.
