ISTANBUL (AA) – China plans to amend and formulate several laws including the foreign trade law this year as outlined in a work report submitted Saturday by the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.

China will also revise the cybersecurity law in 2025 as part of its efforts to modernize the national security system and improve public security governance, reported the state-run Xinhua News.

Additionally, Beijing will draft or update several laws to strengthen its legal framework for the market economy.

The legislature will work on revising existing laws in such areas as unfair competition, business bankruptcy, agriculture, fisheries, civil aviation, and banking regulation, while also formulating legislation on promoting the private sector, national development planning, financial stability, farmland protection, and quality improvement.

The National People’s Congress' annual session ends on Saturday.
