ISTANBUL (AA) - China's consumer inflation was at 0.1% in June on a yearly basis, the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday, exceeding the market expectation of minus 0.1%.
The figure rose from minus 0.1% in May, as the country tries to expand domestic demand and amid the recovery of industrial consumer goods prices, Xinhua reported.
Core consumer prices index – excluding food and energy prices – climbed 0.7% year-on-year in June, up 0.1 percentage points compared to the rise in May.
On a monthly basis, China's inflation was at minus 0.1%.
Meanwhile, producer prices dropped 3.6% year-on-year in June.
