ISTANBUL (AA) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Kyrgyzstan, the first stop of his official trip to Central Asia, to hold talks with the country’s leadership and attend the inaugural session of the Strategic Dialogue, Bishkek said on Wednesday.
According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, will meet with senior officials and hold negotiations with his counterpart Jeenbek Kulubaev.
The ministry said the talks will focus on current areas of cooperation.
It added that “a number of bilateral documents aimed at deepening bilateral relations” are expected to be signed at the end of the visit.
Wang will later travel to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to hold strategic dialogue with his counterparts Saidov Bakhtiyor Odilovich and Sirojiddin Muhriddin, respectively, in Tashkent and Dushanbe.
