ISTANBUL (AA) - China and Malaysia held the expert exchange of activities on medical service, search and rescue, engineering and logistics under the "Peace and Friendship 2025" joint exercise in Malaysia.
During the drills Thursday, service members of the two nations engaged in a "brainstorming" session on 10 humanitarian assistance scenarios, according to the Chinese People's Liberation Army's official English-language news website, China Military Online.
Chinese and Malaysian teams also exchanged military medical theory, rehabilitation technology, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other topics. In addition, China donated medical equipment to Malaysia.
Chinese medical and epidemic prevention teams also planned expert exchanges, skill exchanges, live-force drills and other activities with Malaysia.
The biennial exercise began Wednesday and will run until next Thursday, around the western state of Selangor, as well as in the waters of the Malacca Strait.
The exercise aims to enhance interoperability between the two armies, as well as strengthen military relations and enhance readiness for humanitarian and maritime security operations in the region, according to the Malay Mail.
The public was urged not to be alarmed by the presence of foreign military personnel, the movement of military vehicles or convoys, or other military-related activities until the event concludes.
