ISTANBUL (AA) - A Chinese rocket carrying a satellite failed due to an “anomaly during its flight” after launching on Saturday from the southwestern province of Sichuan.
The Shijian-32 satellite was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center at 12.55 am local time (1655GMT Friday), according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.
The mission was unsuccessful.
The satellite was carried aboard a Long March-3B carrier rocket.
The cause of the failure is under investigation.
