ISTANBUL (AA) – A ground crew member was killed after a helicopter incident in Malaysia on Thursday, officials said.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia said the accident, involving a Bell 206L4 helicopter, took place in the town of Bentong, Pahang state at 10.26 a.m. (0226 GMT).
It said the accident occurred when the helicopter was conducting an "aerial work flight" and an investigation will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau. The pilot was reported to be safe.
The Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) electricity company said the helicopter crashed while landing to refuel near its project site in Bentong. The fire brigade extinguished the fire at the scene.
TNB said the employee of the helicopter company who died was said to be an Indonesian citizen.
