PARIS (AA) – Two climate activists on Wednesday sprayed orange paint on the facade of the French premier's office in Paris, the Matignon, in protest of what it calls government inaction on climate change.
Videos shared online showed the activists belonging to the Derniere Renovation (Last Renovation) were arrested by the police.
In a statement, the group said its activists launched resistance to force the government to act on its commitment on climate change.
Last year, the Administrative Court of Paris ordered the state to pay 10 million euros ($10.6 million) in fines for failing to bring air pollution below regulatory thresholds throughout the country.
