Asensio, Bale, Lunin, Rodrygo infected with virus, Spanish club confirms

ANKARA (AA) - The coronavirus jolted Spanish football club Real Madrid on Thursday with four more players becoming infected.

Spanish midfielder Marco Asensio, Welsh winger Gareth Bale, Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin and Brazilian winger Rodrygo tested positive, according to the team.

Assistant manager Davide Ancelotti also contracted the virus.

The test results came after Croatian midfielder Luka Modric and Brazilian left back Marcelo tested positive on Wednesday.

The infected players and Ancelotti are expected to miss the Spanish La Liga home fixture on Sunday against Cadiz.

Real Madrid sit atop the league with 42 points, well ahead of Sevilla in second place with 34 points.
