LONDON (AA) - A Czech prosecutor has charged 11 people over a series of violent attacks linked to a group known as the “pedophile hunters," according to local media reports on Tuesday.
Czech Radio said that the defendants – ten men and one woman from Prague – are accused of using fake social media profiles posing as teenage girls to lure adult men into meetings. The men were then allegedly assaulted and humiliated.
Prosecutors say eight of those charged were minors at the time the offences were committed.
Most of the defendants face suspended sentences of up to 30 months if convicted. One individual is facing an aggregate prison term of 15 months.
The case is scheduled to be heard at the Prague 9 District Court in mid-February.
