WASHINGTON (AA) - Malikah Shabazz, one of six of Malcolm X's daughters, was found dead in her Brooklyn home, according to multiple reports.
Shabazz, 56, was reportedly found dead in her Brooklyn home by her daughter on Monday, according to police. They do not suspect foul play.
Her death comes less than a week after the two men convicted of killing Malcolm X were exonerated.
Bernice King, one of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr.'s daughters, expressed condolences over Shabazz's death, saying on Twitter she is "deeply saddened" by her death.
"My heart goes out to her family, the descendants of Dr. Betty Shabazz and Malcolm X," she said. "Dr. Shabazz was pregnant with Malikah and her twin sister, Malaak, when Brother Malcolm was assassinated. Be at peace, Malikah."
