Palestinian prime minister pays visit to Egypt
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa will meet his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly on Sunday during a visit to Egypt.
Mustafa will discuss with the Egyptian prime minister efforts to halt the Israeli assault against the Palestinian people and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. He will also meet Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty at the Cabinet headquarters in New Alamein City.
Mustafa and Abdelatty will hold a joint press conference at the Rafah border crossing Monday, after inspecting the crossing area and warehouses designated for storing humanitarian and relief aid bound for the Gaza Strip. The tour will also include a visit to the field hospital in the area.
Developments related to Israel’s plan to reoccupy Gaza Strip
Developments in the Gaza Strip as Israeli army chief Eyal Zamir is scheduled to arrive in Beersheba of southern Israel on Sunday to approve plans for reoccupying Gaza City, according to the Israeli public broadcaster KAN.
Developments after Trump-Putin summit on Ukraine
Reactions to Friday’s Alaska meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a joint statement, European leaders expressed readiness to support Trump's efforts to advance peace talks on Ukraine and but noted that Ukraine “must have ironclad security guarantees" to effectively defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Developments both in Moscow and Kyiv will be followed as Trump will meet his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House on Monday.
Talks scheduled in the Oval Office come as Trump met Putin in Alaska on Friday. Both leaders have either noted “great progress” or “understandings” as a result of the summit.
Bolivia to hold presidential and legislative elections
Bolivian voters will go to the polls to elect a new president, vice president, and legislators in the South American nation’s Council of Senators and Council of Deputies. Voting to begin at 8 am local time (1200GMT) and close at 4 pm (2000GMT).
