Domenico Tedesco takes over as new head coach of Leipzig

German club signs 36-year-old manager until 2023

ANKARA (AA) - Red Bull Leipzig appointed Domenico Tedesco as the new head coach, the German club announced on Thursday.

The 36-year-old coach signed with Leipzig until June 2023.

Andreas Hinkel and Max Urwantschky were appointed as Tedesco’s assistants, according to the Bundesliga club.

Previous manager Jesse Marsch left the club on Dec. 5, five months after assuming the post.

Italian coach Tedesco trained Schalke 04 between 2017-2019. He also worked as the Spartak Moscow manager for almost two years until May 2021.

The new Leipzig manager have not earned any titles through his career yet.

Leipzig currently sit 11th in Bundesliga standings with 18 points.
