ISTANBUL (AA) - Egypt on Thursday confirmed its third case of the novel coronavirus amid the global spread of the disease, local media reported.
The new case is an Egyptian citizen who tested positive for the virus a few days after returning from Serbia and spent 12 hours in France for transit, local media said, citing the Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Mogahed.
The infected citizen was put in quarantine.
Egyptian authorities earlier announced two confirmed coronavirus cases and 1,443 suspected cases of the novel virus, which all tested negative.
The number of confirmed cases across the globe has reached 95,000, with the death toll standing over 3,200.
