CAIRO (AA) - The Egyptian authorities have blocked at least 21 websites, including that of prominent Qatar-based news channel Al Jazeera, Egypt’s state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA) has reported.
According to MENA, the sites were blocked for publishing news “that promotes extremism and terrorism”.
Along with Al Jazeera’s website, blocked websites include those of the Rassd news network and Al-Sharq TV (both of which are affiliated with Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood) and that of the Arabi21 news network.
