DOHA, Qatar (AA) – Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday called on the Qatari business sector to invest in Egypt.

Speaking during a meeting with Qatari businessmen in Doha, the Egyptian premier vowed to remove any obstacles to Qatari investments in Egypt.

Madbouly said a host of national projects carried out by the Egyptian government in recent years have caused to decrease the unemployment rate from 18 percent to 7.2 percent.

“Egypt aims to attract foreign projects that contribute to increasing foreign exchange inflows and boost the share of investments in Egypt's GDP,” he added.

Madbouly said Egypt does not impose any legal restrictions on the exit or entry of investors’ profits.

Earlier in the day, Egypt and Qatar signed three memorandums of understanding in the field of health.

Madbouly’s visit is the first to Qatar since Cairo and Doha signed a reconciliation agreement in 2021 to heal their political rift.
