CAIRO, Egypt (AA) – The armed forces of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday launched a joint military exercise, said a military spokesman.
Units from the special forces of the two countries are taking part in the Zayed 3 exercise in the Gulf state, according to Col. Tamer El-Refai, an Egyptian Army spokesperson.
El-Refai said the exercise would feature many activities, including training on information exchange and conducting joint military operations.
The exercise, meant to strengthen bilateral military ties, will last for two weeks, he added.
Egypt and the UAE most recently held a joint military exercise in the Mediterranean in late November and early December 2020.
