Egyptian footballer goes dark on social media

Egypt-born striker Mohamed Salah has scored more than 50 goals since recruitment by Liverpool in 2017

CAIRO (AA) – The social-media accounts of Liverpool's Egypt-born sensation, Mohamed Salah, appear to have been disrupted.

Salah’s fans on Wednesday were unable to view his posts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, where his followers number in the millions.

It remains unclear why the footballer's posts are no longer accessible, but it has prompted some speculation that perhaps he ran afoul of Egypt’s influential football association.

Notably, perhaps, Salah posted a cryptic tweet Tuesday in which he wrote: "2019 Resolution: Time to get in touch, for real."

Salah has scored more than 50 goals since his recruitment by Liverpool in 2017.
