Erdogan says meeting with Trump possible soon

Turkish president's remarks come after asked whether a meeting with US’ Trump in question

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that a meeting with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump is possible soon.

His remarks come in a special reception marking the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day after asked whether an Erdogan-Trump meeting is in question any time soon.

"Maybe. He [Trump] asked for an appointment. It [the meeting] maybe nowadays,” Erdogan told the reporters at the presidential complex in the capital Ankara.

The last meeting between the two presidents was on Dec.1, 2018 on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders' Summit in Argentina.
