ISTANBUL (AA) — The EU expressed condolences on Wednesday for the victims of a plane crash near the Kazakh city of Aktau.
EU foreign affairs spokesman Anouar El Anouni said on X that they learned the news of the crash with “sorrow.”
“We express our most sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and we wish a quick recovery to those injured,” El Anouni said.

At least 38 people were killed as an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) flight traveling from the country's capital Baku to Russia crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau on Wednesday.
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said during a news conference in Aktau that 38 people were killed in the crash, while 29 others were rescued.
AZAL announced that there were 67 people on board, including a crew of five and 62 passengers.
Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree declaring a day of mourning across the country on Thursday.
