ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock markets closed Wednesday with gains.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 index increased 0.66%, or 3.61 points, to close the day at 546.78.
Germany's DAX 40 index was up 0.46% to end at 23,594.8 points, and the UK's FTSE 100 gained 0.67% to end at 9,177.99 points.
France's CAC 40 rose 0.86% to 7,719.71, and Italy's FTSE MIB index added 0.14% to close at 41,784.66 points.
Spain's IBEX 35 index was up 0.58% to end the midweek at 14,789.4 points.
European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde said the EU must address gaps in its rules to mitigate risks to stablecoins.
The Producer Price Index (PPI) in the Eurozone rose by 0.4% in July compared to the previous month and by 0.2% compared to the same month last year.
The EU Commission has prepared legal texts for trade agreements reached with the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, as well as with Mexico, and has submitted them to member states for ratification.
The euro/dollar parity was up 0.29% to 1.168 as of 1700GMT.
