ANKARA (AA) - Eurozone investor confidence index fell to 16.9 in October, its lowest level since April 2021, according to Frankfurt-based sentiment analysis company Sentix on Monday.

The reading, which was expected to come at 18.6 in October, was down 2.7 points from 19.6 in September.

This marked the third consecutive time the overall index posted a decline.

The expectations index also fell to 8.0 in October, from 9.0 in September, to its lowest level since May 2020. It marked the fifth monthly decline in a row.

"The momentum of the economic recovery in the Eurozone continues to slow down," the company said in its report.

"The signs for the global economy continue to point to 'mid-cycle slowdown'. The slowdown in growth in the middle of the cycle is progressing in the major economic regions - first and foremost in the US," it added.
