ISTANBUL (AA) – The eurozone unemployment rate was at 6.5% in October, down from 6.6% in September, official figures showed on Thursday.
The unemployment rate in the EU was also at 6% in October, falling from 6.1% in the previous month, the 27-member bloc's statistical authority said.
According to Eurostat, there were 12.95 million unemployed men and women in the EU in October, including 10.87 million in the euro area.
The youth unemployment rate was at 15% in the euro area and 15.1% in the EU in October.
The highest unemployment rates were seen in Spain (12.5%) and Greece (11.6%), while the Czech Republic posted the lowest rate with 2.1%.
