ISTANBUL (AA) – One person was killed and four others were hospitalized after an explosion in a lounge bar in the city of Ryazan, located about 200 kilometers (124 miles) southeast of Moscow, Russian authorities said on Monday.
The explosion took place inside a bar on Sobornaya Street, according to emergency services cited by the state-run Tass news agency.
Police are investigating the cause of the blast. One of the injured individuals is being questioned by investigators.
No fire broke out following the explosion, and the building was not severely damaged.
Ryazan is a mid-sized city in central Russia known for its military academy and rich history.
