FIFA World Cup 2018 Group F: South Korea

South Korea will take on Germany, Sweden and Mexico in Group F; their best record is 4th place in 2002

ANKARA (AA) - South Korea will enjoy their tenth spell in World Cup 2018 with games against Sweden, Germany and Mexico in Group F.

Nicknamed 'Taeguk Warriors', the team managed to book their ticket to Russia after finishing their Asian qualifying group at the second place behind Iran.

South Korea accumulated a total of 15 points in 10 matches, scoring 11 goals and conceding 10.

The team will look to benefit from their stars Ki Sung-yeung of Swansea City, Son Heung-min of Tottenham, and Hwang Hee-chan of Hamburg.

South Korea's best record in their World Cup history was the fourth place, when they hosted the tournament in 2002 with Japan. They managed to beat Italy in the Round of 16 and Spain in quarterfinals to play in their first semifinals. Defeated by Germany in semifinals, South Korea were also beaten by Turkey in the third place match.

Defenders: Kim young-gwon (Guangzhou Evergrande), Jang Hyun-soo (Tokyo), Jung Seung-hyun (Sagan Tosu), Yun Yong-sun (Seongnam), Oh Ban-suk (Jeju United), Kim Min-woo (Sangju Sangmu), Park Joo-ho (Ulsan Hyundai), Hong Chul (Sangju Sangmu), Go Yo-han (Seoul), Lee Yong (Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors).

Midfielders: Ki Sung-yueng (Swansea City), Jung Woo-young (Vissel Kobe), Ju Se-jong (Asan Mugunghwa FC), Koo Ja-cheol (Augsburg), Lee Jae-sung (Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors), Lee Seung-woo (Hellas Verona), Moon Seon-min (Incheon United).
