ISTANBUL (AA) - A fire Friday at the National Data Infrastructure center in central South Korea left one person injured and disrupted online services across the country, according to media reports.
Seventy online government services, including the mobile identification system and the platform for complaints and petitions have been down due to the fire, according to the Interior Ministry, said Yonhap News.
The email system was also affected and government websites.
The ministry is probing the effect of the fire on online government services.
Firefighters are trying to extinguish the fire that reportedly broke out from a lithium battery at around 8.20 pm (1120GMT).
Seventy-three firefighters and 70 fire vehicles were deployed to the scene in Daejeon.
Prime Minister Kim Min-seok urged the government to deploy all available resources to extinguish the fire and directed the Interior Ministry to expedite the restoration of online services.
He later instructed all central government agencies to review internal and external national information systems to confirm their stability.
