ANKARA (AA) - A major fire has broken out in France's famous medieval cathedral Notre-Dame on Monday, officials said.
"A terrible fire has broke out at Notre-Dame de Paris. Fire fighters are trying to control the flames," Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said on Twitter.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
One of the most important touristic spots of Paris, Notre-Dame -- which means 'Our Lady' -- dates back to 1345.
