ISTANBUL (AA) - A fire broke out at the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba in Spain late Friday but was immediately brought under control, according to media reports.
A column of smoke rose in Andalusia as a fire erupted on the sides of the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, public broadcaster RTVE reported.
National Police confirmed that the fire was brought under control through the work of three firefighting teams, while authorities have sealed off the area.
The flames reportedly originated in a sweeper’s battery and spread to an interior chapel of the historic building.
