ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul club Besiktas announced Thursday the addition of Valencia's striker Alvaro Negredo to their squad ahead of the upcoming 2017/2018 season.
The club announced the signing on Twitter with a video in which the 31-year-old star Spanish striker said he was coming to Besiktas.
Negredo signed a preliminary contract early Thursday following a meeting with club official Umut Guner in Spain.
He was signed for a fee of €2.5million ($2.95M), which the Istanbul club will pay to La Liga side in seven installments until 2020.
Negredo, who spent the last season in English Premier League with Middlesbrough, scored 10 goals in 39 appearances.
Besiktas had signed former Real Madrid centre-back Pepe in early July.
The experienced defender will play for the club for the next two seasons and be paid €3.35 million ($4.3 million) annually.
