Football: Germany's Dortmund sign Turkish wunderkind

German club Borussia Dortmund transfers 18-year-old hot prospect Emre Mor

BERLIN (AA) - German top football division Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund signed Turkish wunderkind Emre Mor on Tuesday, the club announced.

The German club said on their website that 18-year-old hot prospect Emre Mor has been transferred from Denmark’s Nordsjaelland for a five-year-deal with Dortmund.

"Emre Mor is a highly gifted young player with considerable versatility in attack and huge development potential," remarked Borussia Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc.

On his new deal, Mor said, "Borussia Dortmund is a wonderful club in Europe with unique fans. I am immensely looking forward to meeting my new teammates and can hardly wait for the season to begin and to make my debut appearance for Borussia."

Mor scored two goals and produced two assists in 13 appearances for his old side Nordsjaelland in the previous season.

The German media claimed that Dortmund paid a 16 million euro ($18.1 million) transfer fee.

Mor is part of the Turkey squad for Europe's top-tier international football tournament Euro 2016 set to kick off this Friday.
