ANKARA (AA) - Inter Milan signed Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku away from England's Manchester United on Thursday.

The Italian club said Lukaku inked a five-year deal, keeping him at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium until June 30, 2024.

The Telegraph in the U.K. said Inter will pay a £73.9 million ($89.6 million) transfer fee to Manchester United to acquire Lukaku.

"Now Romelu Lukaku is a new Inter player. A warm welcome and good luck wishes from of all the Nerazzurri fans: #WelcomeRomelu!," Inter said on its website.

Lukaku previously played for Belgium's Anderlecht and several English clubs, including Chelsea, West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

He won two Belgian league titles with Anderlecht in 2010 and 2012 and a English FA Cup with Chelsea.

Lukaku is the all-time top scorer for the Belgian national team with 48 goals in 81 games.

He also helped Belgium win the bronze medal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
