Football: Results in top 5 European leagues

Lazio, Liverpool, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, and Rennes top their leagues after weekend schedule

ANKARA (AA) - After the latest games in the top five European football leagues over the weekend, Lazio, Liverpool, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, and Rennes are in the top positions in their respective leagues.

In Italy's Serie A, Roma drew Genoa 3-3 as Turkish footballer Cengiz Under scored a goal for his team. Milan lost to Udinese 1-0 in an away game.

Lazio, Napoli, Atalanta, Torino, Brescia, Juventus and Udinese have 3 points each, winning their matches in the first week of the Serie A.

The Inter vs Lecce match will wrap up the first week of the Italian League on Monday.

In the English Premier League, Liverpool defeated London team Arsenal 3-1 while Egyptian star Mohammed Salah scored two goals for his team. The Reds have nine points.

Reigning champion Manchester City beat Bournemouth 3-1 in an away game to reach 7 points while Manchester United lost to Crystal Palace 2-1 in a home game.

The leader Liverpool were followed by Manchester City with 7 points and by Arsenal with 6 points.

In the Spanish La Liga, the leader Sevilla defeated Granada 1-0 while Atletico Madrid won against another Madrid side Leganes 1-0.

Last year's champions of Spanish League Barca beat Real Betis 5-2 while Real Madrid drew Real Valladolid 1-1 in a home game.

Sevilla and Atletico Madrid reached 6 points each, followed by Real Madrid with 4 points.

In Germany's Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund defeated Koln 3-1 and Bayern Munich beat Schalke 04 3-0 in an away game.

Borussia Dortmund, Freiburg, RB Leipzig, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen have 6 points each.

In the French Ligue 1, the leader Rennes top the league with 9 points after defeating Strasbourg 2-0 to win all 3 matches.

The reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain beat Toulouse 4-0 at the Parc des Princes Stadium.

On Tuesday, Montpellier will face Olympique Lyon at the La Mosson Stadium. The third week of French league will close with the Nice vs Marseille and Lille vs St Etienne matches on Wednesday.
