Four soldiers martyred by roadside bomb in Turkey's SE

9 other soldiers were wounded, 4 critically, in attack by PKK terrorists in Hakkari province

ANKARA (AA) - Four Turkish soldiers were martyred Wednesday in a roadside bomb attack in the southeastern Hakkari province, the military said Wednesday.

In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said nine other soldiers were wounded in the same PKK attack, four critically, along the Semdinli-Aktutun road.

"The wounded soldiers were taken immediately to hospital, and their treatment is continuing," the statement said.

PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, more than 450 Turkish security personnel have been martyred and over 4,500 PKK terrorists killed.
