ISTANBUL (AA) - French Jewish Union for Peace (UJFP) said that its publishing director's house was raided by the police on Thursday.
"This morning, September 11, 2025, the home of our comrade Daniel Levyne was raided in Dinard. He is, in fact, the publishing director of the website of the French Jewish Union for Peace (UJFP). This strong and senseless action is 'justified' by a complaint filed in 2024 by an organization, the association 'Jeunesse Francaise Juive,' which was specifically created after October 7, 2023," the union said in a statement.
UJFP noted that the complaint concerned two of their statements issued after Oct. 7 in which they discussed the "colonial situation prevailing in Israel/Palestine" and recalled the relevant international law.
"This action falls within the framework of the Justice Minister’s circular on the apology of terrorism, relying on a vague concept and placing a gag on the movement of solidarity with Palestine," the union also underscored.
UJFP further reaffirmed that they will continue to reject "racism, colonialism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia" and also called for the withdrawal of the complaint.
