ISTANBUL (AA) - French police on Monday raided the Arab World Institute in Paris as part of a probe against its former head, France’s ex-Culture Minister Jack Lang, amid recent revelations of links to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Searches were carried out at the Arab World Institute and various other locations as part of an investigation into aggravated tax fraud and money laundering targeting Lang and his daughter, the national financial prosecutor's office announced, according to broadcaster BFMTV.
“They are part of a preliminary investigation opened by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office on Feb. 6, 2026, on charges of aggravated tax fraud and money laundering targeting Jack Lang and Caroline Lang,” Pascal Prache, head of the prosecutor's office, said in a statement.
The investigation was launched after the US Justice Department released more than 3 million pages related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, revealing that Jack Lang’s name appeared 673 times in exchanges with the American financier.
