777 Partners LLC becomes new owner of oldest football team in Italy

ANKARA (AA) - A US investment company became the new owner of Genoa CFC, according to an announcement by the Italian football club.

Completion of the sale of Genoa CFC to 777 Partners LLC was announced on Monday.

It added that Alberto Zangrillo, the personal physician of former Prime Minister and former AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi, became president of the Serie A club.

Genoa CFC, Italy’s oldest football team, currently lies in the number 17 spot of Serie A, struggling not to be relegated this season.

The historic club have nine Serie A titles in history, but the last one was nearly a century ago, in 1924.
