BERLIN (AA) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House next week, the German government announced Friday.
The two leaders are scheduled to hold talks in the Oval Office on the morning of March 3, followed by a working lunch, said a statement from deputy government spokesperson Sebastian Hille.
Their discussions will focus on bilateral relations, security issues, trade and competition, Hille said. The agenda will also include the Russia-Ukraine war and the situation in the Middle East, according to the statement.
The upcoming visit marks Merz's second meeting with Trump since taking office as chancellor. Their first White House meeting took place in June 2025, shortly after Merz assumed office.
