ISTANBUL (AA) - Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama said Tuesday that his X account was restored after being compromised.

Mahama wrote on X that his team regained control of the account, working with the X support team.

The president’s account was hacked early Monday and used to promote a cryptocurrency, Solana Africa, the country’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) said in a statement.

“We understand the public concern this incident has generated and are actively addressing the situation,” it said.

The CSA said it was working "closely" with X and others to address the incident and prevent a recurrence.
