ISTANBUL (AA) - Golden State Warriors' Gary Payton II suffered a partial tear of a ligament in his left thumb, the NBA said on Friday.
"The injury occurred during Tuesday’s game against the Heat in Miami. Payton II will not play in Friday's game against the Pelicans in New Orleans and will be re-evaluated in one week," the NBA said in a statement.
The Warriors confirmed that Payton won’t play at New Orleans on Saturday and will be reevaluated in one week.
The 32-year-old guard averaged 6.6 points, three rebounds, 1.3 assists and 14.9 minutes this season.
