ANKARA (AA) - The Greek Cypriot administration is set to buy Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system, according to a news report.
According to Kathimerini daily, the Defense Ministry, in line with demands from the Greek Cypriot National Guard, gave a green signal for the purchase of the system.
The daily underscored that the deal was already reached with the Israeli authorities.
However, the Israeli daily Jerusalem Post on Sunday said that the Israeli Defense Ministry has not responded to a query about the deal.
As part of the rearmament program, the Greek Cypriot administration in June approved funds to buy 6 attack helicopters from France.
